Connie was supposed to leave for Chad next Monday and be gone two
weeks, but it’s been put off until fall. She isn’t upset about that part. It
actually works much better for us if she goes later in the year (after the
consultant seminar, wedding, etc.). What we are upset about is the reason. She
was to be traveling with Clarissa Barton, BI’s other literacy consultant.
Friday morning Clarissa fell and broke her hip. Please be praying for her.
This is a serious injury and a huge set back for her and the work she is doing
in Chad. She has been our only literacy
consultant working in French speaking Africa
and is a tremendous asset and blessing to our ministries there. She is special
to Connie because she was instrumental in Connie becoming interested and
involved in literacy ministry. Pray that God heals Clarissa and that she is
able to travel to Chad in the fall. Pray that God
gives us and BI wisdom as we reschedule this workshop. Most importantly, please PRAY THAT GOD PROVIDES A
LITERACY CONSULTANT FOR FRENCH SPEAKING AFRICA. The photos from our trip to Asia are up in the Photos section. We will try to get pictures from our trip to Venezuela and Birch's trip to Peru up soon.
